At NBS Seafood in Glen Burnie MD we want to give you a taste of true southern flavor, and this is why we provide our customers with the freshest cuts of alligator tail and sausage around. All of our alligators are sourced from the wilds of Louisiana, giving you a way to taste alligator in the way it was meant to be tasted. Our alligator sausage is excellent when paired with our live crawfish, and it can bring a certain dual protein element to your next crawfish boil that will leave your guests begging for more.
One of our most popular alligator dishes is our tails, and alligator tails are also often considered to be the tenderloins of the animal. The alligator tail is made up of cylindrical tubes of meat, and the texture can be easily compared to tuna by seafood lovers. An alligator tail will often be tenderized during the preparation process, and it can then be grilled, broiled, or fried for different methods of cooking. While some may be turned off to alligator due to its chewiness, the tail portion of the meat will refute this belief and show your guests that alligator can be even more delicate than they have ever imagined!
Alligator can even be a healthy protein choice, and we like to allow this to ring true with our lack of preservatives or additives. Rather than compromising the nutritional value with synthetic preservatives, or causing you to pay more due to water weight, we keep our alligator tail and sausages pure so you can experience their flavor and nutrition fully. Unless the gator is fried, a single portion of alligator will typically carry just 110 calories, 2 grams of fat, no carbohydrates, and a whopping 24 grams of protein. With no added sodium due to preservatives, our alligator will also often only hold a minimal 55 milligrams!
